Geita Airport
The city hosts the largest gold mine in Tanzania, the Geita Gold Mine; a fact that contributes to the increase in the number of foreign investors in the city since the 1990s. Cyanide and mercury used in gold mining, on the other hand, are among the factors that harm the nature of the city. One third of the Tanzanian population consists of Muslims and Christians, while the rest of the population is following local beliefs.
Temperatures in high altitude regions, where a tropical climate is effective, range from 10 to 20 degrees Celsius, while temperatures in the rest are rarely dropping below 20 degrees Celsius. Rainfall is seen between March and May and October and December.
