Transportation to Airport from Yerevan City Center
Zvartnots Intl. Airport
It is very easy to reach Zvartnos Airport from every point in the city. You can reach the airport, which is nearly 13 kilometers away from the city center, in 15 minutes. You can get to the airport by choosing from the public transportation alternatives such as bus, minibus and metro, by taking a taxi or driving your car.
Bus
Buses and minibuses are the most frequently used public transportation vehicles in Yerevan. The routes of buses and the minibuses called marshrutka are connected to each other and so you can easily reach the airport from anywhere in the city.
It is possible to reach the airport directly by bus from the best-known central points of the city, such as Opera House, Tigran Mets av., Khanjyan st., Abovyan st., Yeritasardakan.
The buses N107 and N108 directly go to the airport. In addition, the bus number 18 has services between the airport and the main railway station of Yerevan. If you have arrived in the city by train, you can reach the airport in 20-25 minutes by taking the bus 18.
Marshrutka (Minibus)
The marshrutka is the most popular means of public transportation in the city thanks to the high number of routes and lines. Minibus drivers usually wait until the minibus is full. There are more than 100 marshrutka routes serving in Yerevan. The minibus number 23, which is the most preferred line, departs from the main railway station and goes to Kilikia central bus station. This route also passes through the city center. Marshrutkas departing from Kilikia bus station go to almost everywhere in Yerevan. You can directly get to the airport by taking the marshrutka 18 from this station.
Metro
Yerevan metro has a total of 10 stops with a single line of 13.4-km length. The metro serves between 6:30 am and 11 pm every day of the week and it is connected to the main bus station and the railway station as well.
The busiest metro station is the Hanrapetutyan Hraparak station next to Republic Square, which is the center of Yerevan. Yeritasardakan, which is very close to the Opera House that is another central point, and Zoraver Andranik opposite the cathedral are also another practical metro stations.
The Sassountsi David area, where the Yerevan railway station is located, is also connected to the metro network and so transportation becomes easy to a great extent. The boarding fee has been fixed for years; it is possible to buy tickets from the stations by paying 100 Drams.
Taxi
There are two types of taxis in the city; the taxis you can take directly on streets and the taxis you can get by phone. The taxis you can get by phone charge 600 drams for the first 5 kilometers and 100 drams per kilometer. Zvartnots Airport, which was established in 1961, is about 13 kilometers away from Yerevan city center, on the west of the city center. In 2004, the construction of a new terminal was started and it continues to increase its passenger capacity day by day. Zvartnots Airport, which served more than 2 million passengers in 2014, host the airline companies such as 97 Airlines, Aeroflot, UTair, Austrian and Ural Airlines.
Once you arrive in Yerevan, you can get 120-day visa by paying 15.000 drams or a 21-day visa by paying 3000 drams. For a transit visa, the amount you need to pay is 10.000 drams.
At the airport, you can easily carry out your foreign currency transactions at the world-famous Converse Bank. Just across the terminal is the car park with 600 cars capacity. Hourly parking fee is 500 drams, while daily parking fee is 2000 drams.
The airport has three terminals in total as Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and VIP Terminal. Within the main terminal building, there are tourist information desk, free wi-fi service, duty-free shop, VIP lounge, restaurants, bar, cafes, and the shopping stores where you can find souvenirs, DVD, CD, newspaper and magazines.

The Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport, also referred to as Madrid-Barajas Airport, is located 12 km from Madrid’s city center. There are a variety of transportation alternatives to get to the city center from the airport including the metro, trains, buses, taxis, or rental cars.
Metro
Madrid’s metro system is a modern, clean, and quick transportation alternative to get to the city center from the airport. There are two metro stations at the airport that provide convenient transportation to the city’s metro system. There is a station located in Terminal 2, which is accessible from the other terminals using the airport’s inter-terminal transportation system. The other station is located in Terminal 4. Metro Line 8 runs through both stations. Departing from Terminal 4, Metro Line 8 runs to the following lines respectively, Barajas, Airport T1-T2-T3, Campo de las Naciones, Mar de Cristal, Pinar del Rey, Colombia, all the way to the Nuevos Ministerios Station in only 12 minutes. At the Nuevos Ministerios Station you can transfer to Metro Line 10 and Metro Line 6, depending on your destination in the city. You can also transfer to Line 4 at the Mar de Cristal Station.

The metro is an affordable and convenient method of transportation to get to the city center. However, you might have to transfer at multiple locations depending on your final destination. Train
Another convenient method of transportation to get to the city center from the airport is by using the RENFE trains. There is a station located in Terminal 4, which is accessible from the other terminals using the airport’s inter-terminal transportation system. From this station you can get to stops in the city like Chamartin, Nuevos Ministerios, Atocha, and Principe Pio by taking the C1 trains. The total train ride from the airport station to Chamartin Station takes 11 minutes and the total train ride from the airport station to Principe Pio Station takes 38 minutes. The C1 trains operate from 5:15 am to 12:15 am and run every 30 minutes.
Bus
Buses are another form of transportation to get to the city center and its surrounding areas from the airport. Airport Express buses provide transportation along Plaza Cibeles to the city’s main railway station, Atocha Station. This station is also quite close to the city’s main bus stop. These buses operate 24 hours a day and run every 15 minutes during the day and every 35 minutes at night. These yellow buses also let off passengers at the junction of O’Donnell and Doctor Esquerdo and stops along Plaza de Cibeles before arriving at Atocha Station. The ride from the airport to the last stop takes about 40 minutes under normal traffic conditions. In addition, there are regular public bus services that provide transportation to various locations in the city. Bus line 200 runs from each terminal to the Avenida de America Station, where you can connect to other major bus routes. Taxi
Another transportation alternative to get to the city center from the airport is by taxi. Taxis are easily accessible outside of the arrivals hall. Since the airport is located in such close proximity to the city center, only 13 km away, taking a taxi is a comfortable option. Official taxicabs in Madrid are colored white with a red stripe on them. Taxis operate using a taximeter but also use maximum and minimum flat rate fares.
