About Rhodes
Belonging to Greece, largest of two islands, Rhodes is 18 km from Bozburun Peninsula in Turkey. Diagoras Airport is open to international flights and located 15 kilometers away from Rhodes city centre. Means of transport in the city is very limited. Buses are used extensively in the city, where taxis are the other prominent alternative. There are also ferries providing transportation if you wish to visit the rest of the Twelve Islands.
You can take the buses if you arrive at Diagoras Airport inside service hours, otherwise you can take a taxi to go to your destination in the city. If you want to make a pleasant journey in Rhodes, which has a small city centre, you can also rent a car.
Taxi
You will be surprised by the colours of the taxis in Rhodes. Stylish and appealing taxis with navy blue and white colours are located at the exit of the terminal building. Although there are sometimes queues as the airport is quite busy, taxis, which are in service 7/24, provide fast transportation.
Bus
Buses run on two lines, east and west, in Rhodes, which is a small and appealing holiday spot. There is a distance of 300 meters between the bus stops and the airport. You can take the orange coloured buses to get to the city centre from the airport. There is a bus service approximately in every 20 minutes between 06.35 and 23.00. You can get the bus tickets from the airport.

As the airport traffic is quite busy, sometimes buses are overcrowded and there are long queues at the taxis. You can rent a car to stay away from these problems and the waste of time.
