About Muharraq
Located in Bahrain, Muharraq is the country’s 3rd largest city and the former capital. It is an important city in terms of trade. Muharraq is founded on a flat plain with fertile soil. There is a luxury hotel located in almost every part of the city.
Muharraq has a desert climate with very little rainfall throughout the year. During the summer the temperatures reach highs between 33-45 degrees. The rate of humidity is also quite high. The Muharraq Summer Festival, held between July and August, attracts a lot of participants. Many foreigners visit the country just to participate in this festival. There are different events, various horse races, and book fairs organized every year.
The influences of the Middle East are very apparent in the city’s cuisine, which features a lot of humus dishes. You can also find flavors from Chinese, Lebanese, and Italian cuisine in various restaurants located in the city center. The Bahrain International Airport, which is a significant airport, is located in the city.
