Transportation to Airport from Sinop City Center
Sinop Airport
Sinop, the northernmost settlement in Turkey, provides Aegean air with its geographical and coastal waters in the Black Sea. There is an airport in the city which is now on the agenda with its bays, the famous prison which is turned into a museum and the construction of a nuclear power plant which is one of the most important investments of Turkey.
The airport is about 8 kilometers from the city center of Sinop, one of the most beautiful cities of the Black Sea region. You can get to the airport with shuttle service, minibuses, taxis and private cars.
Airport Services
The most important and most used means of transport between the Sinop city center and the airport are services that are operated by Turkish Airlines. The shuttle buses depart 90 minutes before flights in front of Sinop PTT and arrive at the airport in twenty minutes. These services are more economical than most alternatives. They also pass through Sinop Prison and Sinop Central Bus Station.
Minibus
It is also possible to get to the airport with the minibuses which are also called dolmuş in Turkish. These are considered to be slower than the airport services. The minibuses stop frequently to get their passengers and pass through Sinop Prison and TOKİ buildings.
Taxi
There are also taxi transportation between the city center and the airport which is located within the borders of Bostancılı village 8 kilometers outside the city. Remember that you have the right to bargain, even if there are fixed fees for taxi transportation. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the airport by taxi.
Private Car
Sinop city center is located on the Sinop Peninsula and its extension, Boztepe nose. It is also possible to use a private car to reach the airport from the city center, which is situated on these two land connected by a thin piece of land. First of all, you have to get to Fatih Caddesi via Sakarya Caddesi which connects the nose and the peninsula. Fatih Caddesi will also take you directly to the Bostancılı Village which will connect to the airport. There is also a car park for 100 cars where you can park your car at the airport.

Sinop Airport, which is only open for domestic flights, welcomes about 65,000 passengers per year. Despite this fact, the airport is not very well developed. There is one café and one restaurant at the airport. Within the terminal are offices of airline companies and check-in counters.

Visitor traveling to Bremen fly in to Bremen Airport, which is located 3.5 km from the city center. It is one of the most convenient airports in terms of transportation to and from the city center. Bremen Airport handled over 2.5 million passengers in 2015 and serves not only Northern Germany but also some parts of the Netherlands.
Tram
The tram is one of the most convenient transportation alternatives to get to the city center from Bremen Airport. The tram also provides transportation to surrounding cities. Tram number 6 provides transportation to the city center and departs directly from the terminal. The tram takes 11 minutes to get to the train station in the city center (Hauptbahnhof). One of the stops along this route is Bremen Am Brill, which is a 5-minute walk from the historic city center, where St. Peter’s Cathedral is located. From the main train station you can transfer to a train to get to Bremerhaven, which is known as “Bremen’s Harbor”.
Taxi
One of the fastest transportation alternatives to get to the city center from Bremen Airport, which is located 3.5 km away, is by taxi. The fact that the airport is located in such close proximity to the city makes the total fare quite reasonable. Taxis are readily available at the terminal exit.
Rental Car
Renting a car is another transportation alternative to get to the city center. There are 5 different rental companies that have offices at the airport, all of which are located in Terminal 3. Each company offers vehicles with winter tires due to the city’s location in the north. In addition, each company offers vehicles that come equipped with navigation and baby car seats. You can also rent a bicycle and bike to the city center since it is located in such close proximity. Biking to the city center from the airport takes approximately 15 minutes. The airport features free bicycle parking areas in front of Terminal 2.
To drive to the city center by car make a left on Neuenlander Street once you exit the airport. This will take you to Langemarckstraße, passing directly over the Weser River, which splits the city into two, and going through the city center, which is where the central train station is located. The street named Hutfilterstraße after the bridge will take you to the historic city center.
