You can get to the airport by using the buses operating from the early hours in the morning till the late hours in the evening. Taxis and shuttle buses stand out as the fastest transportation options. You can easily find a taxi in the city center or use the shuttle buses that have stops at certain points of the city.

Taxi

Taxis which apply different day and night tariffs take you to go to the airport in about 20 minutes. If you need to go to the airport at late hours, you should reserve a taxi in advance because there is no other transportation at night.

Bus

Buses carry passengers to the airport by departing from the two terminals located in Urumqi. You can use the bus routes 21 and 57 for the travel lasting approximately 45 minutes. The buses operate between 7:30 am and 11:30 pm.

Shuttle Bus

If you choose to use the shuttle buses which operate less frequently than the buses but on the other hand offer a faster transportation to the airport, you can get on the buses from China Southern Hotel located in Hong Shan from 07:30 am to 11:30 pm.

Airport Information

At Urumqi Diwopu Airport, which has three terminal buildings, the services offered to passengers are generally found in terminal buildings 2 and 3. In these two-layered terminal buildings, there is a first aid room and a health center in order to respond to emergencies.

At the airport, which has also wheelchair service for providing convenience to the disabled, there are many services such as dressing rooms, large waiting halls, lost-and-found offices, check rooms and an area where you can send faxes or take printouts.

In addition to these services, passengers can taste the delicious foods in Tian Yuan Restaurant and Street Restaurant located in terminals 2 and 3. These restaurants offer delicacies from the rich world cuisine. The airport, which also hosts a hotel having 178 rooms and a restaurant, is built on a very large area.
