About Karachi

Karachi, the largest city in Pakistan and the capital of the Sindh province, is renowned for its vibrant culture, bustling economy, and significant historical landmarks. As of 2023, Karachi has a population of approximately 16.1 million people, making it the most populous city in the country and one of the largest cities in the world.

The climate of Karachi is arid, with hot summers and mild winters. The city experiences limited rainfall, mainly during the monsoon months from July to September. The best time to visit Karachi is during the cooler months from November to March, when the weather is pleasant and ideal for outdoor activities.

Karachi is served by Jinnah International Airport, located about 14 kilometers from the city center. The airport is a major hub, offering connections to numerous international destinations, including direct flights from Saudi Arabia. Airlines such as Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Saudia, and Flynas operate regular flights to Karachi from cities like Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam.

The local cuisine in Karachi is a melting pot of flavors from across Pakistan and beyond. The city is famous for its biryanis, kebabs, and street food such as chaat and golgappas. One of the popular local sweets is the rabri, a condensed milk-based dessert.

Karachi’s attractions cater to a wide range of interests. Clifton Beach is a popular destination for both locals and tourists, offering stunning views of the Arabian Sea. The Quaid-e-Azam's Mausoleum, the final resting place of Pakistan’s founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah, is a significant historical landmark.

For those interested in history and culture, the National Museum of Pakistan showcases relics and artifacts related to the region’s history. Mohatta Palace, a museum set in a stunning colonial-era building, offers insights into the art and history of the area.

Outdoor activities around Karachi include visiting the Karachi Zoo, exploring the various parks and green spaces like Bagh Ibne Qasim, and enjoying water sports at the city’s many beaches.

Saudi Arabian nationals visiting Karachi will need to apply for a visa prior to their arrival in Pakistan. The e-visa facility is available, allowing travelers to apply online for a tourist visa. The process typically requires submitting an application form, passport copy, and other relevant documents online. The visa is usually issued within a few days. It is recommended to check the latest visa requirements and travel advisories before planning your trip.
