Transportation to Airport from Bakü City Center

Heydar Aliyev Intl. Airport

Located along the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan’s capital Baku is a rising star in the East gaining notoriety for its oil, gas, and caviar. Baku is a city that attracts the attention people migrating from Asia and other countries in the region, and businessmen from all around the world. The city’s only airport is the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, named after the National Leader and third President of Azerbaijan. The airport serves 5 million passengers annually.

You can get to the airport, which is located 25 km away, from the city center by car or a combination of the metro and airport buses.

Airport Buses

The easiest and cheapest way to get to the airport from the city center is by airport bus. Bus line 116 departs from Vurgun Park, located in central Baku, and takes about 50 minutes to get to the airport.

Metro

The metro system in Baku provides transportation to many central locations in the city like the Old City, 28 May Street, and the Caspian Sea. However, to get to the airport from the city center you have to first take the metro and then get on a bus. From central locations in the city like the Old City, Cafer Cabbari, and Khatai you can take the metro to the 28 May and Koroglu stations. From here you can get on bus line 116, which runs to the airport or take a taxi to the airport.   

Personal Car

One of the city’s most important avenues, Heydar Aliyev Avenue will connect you to the Boyuk Shor Highway, which goes to the airport. From the highway take the Airport exit. Transportation to Ufa City Center from Airport

Ufa Airport is among the busiest airports in Russia. It is located 22 kilometers away from the city centre and is connected to the city via a highway. The airport, where there are many restaurants you can dine in, stores you can shop at and a hotel, has also free internet connection. Those who wish to have some quality time in the airport may also use the private passenger lounges.

Moreover, your children can play around in the kid’s playground while you are waiting for your flight and you can make money transfer or other banking transactions at the bank offices or on the ATMs. Taxis will be the first option you will encounter for traveling to the city centre from the airport.

Taxis waiting just outside of the terminal are quite cosy and comfortable. They provide convenient and fast transportation to the city centre and fares are very reasonable when compared to the many other cities.

Those who wish to travel by some other vehicle more affordable than taxis may take buses departing to many locations in the city centre from the airport or rent a car. There are also limousines at the service of passengers looking for a much more comfortable and luxurious option.

If you are going stay at a big hotel in the city you may also use hotel shuttles for transportation between the airport and city centre. However, do not forget that you need to contact your hotel or make an online reservation in advance to use these shuttles. Russian Ruble is the generally accepted currency in the city. Bus

In Ufa, buses come in the first place among the vehicles you can use for transportation between the airport and the city. You can use the bus lines 110, 110C and 101 to travel to the city centre from Ufa Airport. Bus 110 runs between the airport and Autocentre/Central Market. Bus 110C departs to Zeleneya Roscha. You can travel between the airport and the train station in Ufa city centre by taking the bus 101.

Although buses are in service during the majority of the day, if your landing time is at a very late hour, you may consider taking other alternatives such as taxis or rental cars.

Private Vehicle

If you have one, you can also use your private vehicle for transportation to Ufa city centre from the airport. Ufa Airport’s large car park provide great convenience for those who have a private vehicle. Moreover, using the car park for less than 15 minutes is free of charge. 

Those who will stay longer may use the car park for 100 rubles per hour or 150 rubles per day.If you wish to leave your car at the airport car park for more than 48 hours, you will need to pay 3000 rubles.

Taxi

Taxi is one of the most preffered vehicles for transportation between the airport and city centre in Ufa. Taxis in Ufa are quite cosy and comfortable. You can take one of the taxis waiting outside Terminal 1, which are available 24 hours a day, after arriving at the airport and start your journey towards the city centre.

Taxis usually have taximeters in them, which does not leave too much room for bargaining. However, you can still form an opinion about the fare you will pay by notifying the driver of your destination before boarding the taxi.
