For transportation here, you can get on the bus number 732 from the Sintagma and Omonoia squares in the city center of Athens, getting off on the third stop, Evangelimos Hospital stop and changing on to bus number X95, arriving at the airport after about an hour-long trip. X96, however, provides transportation to the Pire Port and from Pire, to the airport.
Passing through Monastiraki and Sintagma, located in the city center, the M3 line takes you directly to the Airport. However, from the Omonoia Square you can get on the M1 line to get to Monastiraki switching to line M2 which will get you to Sintagma from where you can get on a bus to the airport.
The M3 line also can get you to important places like the Benaki museum, Athens Academy and Athens Concert hall.
Athens, unlike western European cities, does not have orderly streets and boulevards. Because of this, your chance of getting lost is very high.Attiki Road will get you to the A64 which takes you to the Airport. You can get to the Airport via private vehicle in 30 to 40 minutes and park it in the 1360 capacity parking lot.
Hosting more than 15 million visitors annually, the airport offers its passengers and their close ones places to spend their time fruitfully. With health and maintenance facilities located within the airport, there is also a small archaeological and Acropolis exhibition.
There are also galleries where temporary exhibitions take place in the Airport. It is rich in terms of eating, drinking and shopping. There is a large Duty Free in the airport where you can find everything related to the Mediterranean culture and cuisine.
Kannur International Airport
Kannur International Airport (IATA: CNN) is located 28 kilometers from the Kannur city center, in the state of Kerala. Besides Kannur, this airport serves the North Malabar region and the Mahe district as well. There are several transportation options from the Kannur International Airport to the city center, such as buses, taxis, autorickshaws, hotel shuttles, and rental cars. Overall, the road and railway network of Kannur is good, so the best transportation method is a taxi or rented car, as you can either head to the city center, or to the railway station easily, which the railway is connected to the rest of India. Kannur airport has also an open parking lot with a capacity of up to 700 cars, 200 taxis, and 25 buses.
Bus
Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) operates buses from and to the Kannur Airport. Currently, the routes start operating from 05:00 to 20:00. Besides Kannur, there are routes to Iritty, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Thalassery, and other locations. Bus fares are INR 24 to Kannur city, but due to Covid-19 restrictions, the availability may vary.
Taxi
Taxis are the easiest, and perhaps the most luxurious option of transportation from Kannur International Airport to the city center and get around the city as well. Calicut Tours& Travels provides pre-paid taxi services at their counters on both domestic and international arrival terminals. The taxi fares start from INR 750, which is roughly 9-10 USD, but keep in mind that fares may change. Otherwise, outside the airport, you can find taxis as well. It takes about 35-45 minutes from the airport to the city center.
Rental Car
Rent-A-Car services are available at several counters in the Kannur International Airport. You can either rent from one of them, or book online in advance. Well-known companies like Hertz, Avis, and Enterprise provide services and the prices vary according to your preference of cars, dates, availabilities, etc.
Auto Rickshaw
Auto rickshaws are one of the versions of rickshaws and it is quite common in several Asian cities, including India. These auto rickshaws are motorized, and if you want to use this as a transportation method from Kannur International Airport to the city center, you can find them outside the airport.
